In the spirit of REACHING and ACHIEVING your DREAMS, I have some dream reaching news to share...
Earlier this year, I and many other designers from around the world, individually designed a glamorous red carpet dress for this years Oscars (I went the extra mile and designed the jewellery to match too!!) ... My design ended up being one of the few that was hand selected. This meant that my design had a chance to be worn by an A-list actress on the red carpet of the 84th Academy Oscar Awards... HOW and WHY???...

WELL... I entered a competition! (yep as simple as that!) The Red Carpet Green Dress competition organised by Suzy Amis Cameron (wife of Hollywood movie director James Cameron) is open to all talented designers from around the world whose designs are red carpet worthy for an A-list actress (or at least think they are!!)...HOWEVER and most importantly, not only did the design have to be fabulous but it had to be completely environmentally friendly! So with that in mind I nervously got to designing!...

After doing some research on the red carpet trends occurring that award season, I carefully selected the colour and cut of the dress and found the most luxurious eco-friendly material (natural silk chiffon and hemp silk satin) that would do the design justice (as seen above). As a bonus I designed some eco friendly jewellery to match, which included 14 karat eco-gold (yep there is such a thing!). Dress to accessories was ALL eco friendly....
After a long wait I was contacted by the RCGD team and was informed that Suzy herself, and the mystery actress (who would wear the winning design) loved my dress and jewellery and that it had been shortlisted!... So wait PAUSE!!!... Note to self...I might actually win and may actually have BOTH dress and jewellery grace the Oscars (a dream come true and a massive achievement) *doing my go crazy dance*...
But alas it wasn't meant to be and Miami designer Valentina Delfino won the grand prize of which A-list actress Missi Pyle beautifully wore (see below)...

HOWEVER I loved my design so much I decided to make it with or without the Oscars!lol (see below).

....So moral of the story?!... Dreams are absolutely possible and can be in touching distance!...Think about it! Taking part in this competition (for me) and getting this far enabled me to get a step closer to my dream of having designs on the Oscars red carpet... AMAZING!!...
